Minority Health
Description: The race and ethnicity of individuals in the MEPS-HC are reported in order to support analyses for minority groups. The specifications for determining both the race and ethnicity were changed in the MEPS-HC survey in 2002. In addition to the publications listed below, most of the statistical briefs and other analytic reports using MEPS-HC data include race/ethnicity breakouts and analysis.

Healthcare information for minority groups is also available in the annual National Healthcare Disparities Report.

Data tables: Most HC Summary Data Tables provide data by race/ethnicity, as well as several other demographic variables.
Analytic tools: You can use the MEPSnet/HC query tool to generate your own estimates. Refer to the race and Hispanic ethnicity variables from within the Demographic Variable Group of the Variable Selection Query Tab.
