Other Medical Equipment and Expenditures
Description: Other Medical Expenses (OM) events are any purchase made during the reference period from one of the following two categories of medical supplies: regular OM events such as glasses or contact lenses, insulin, or other diabetic equipment or supplies; and additional OM events such as prostheses, ambulance services, or wheelchairs.
Data tables: For tables specifically on other medical equipment and expenditures, go to the Table 4 series of the Expenditures by Health Care Service tables of the HC Summary Data Tables.
Analytic tools: You can use the MEPSnet/HC query tool to generate your own estimates for other medical equipment and expenditures. Select the Other Medical Equipment and Services variables within the Utilization, Expenditures, and SOP Variable Group of the Variable Selection Query Tab.
