This Statistical Brief presents estimates of healthcare utilization and expenditures for the treatment of mental disorders among adults ages 18 and older in the U.S. civilian noninstitutionalized population in 2019. Estimates are presented for the total population and various demographic subgroups using data from the 2019 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey-Household Component (MEPS-HC). Only differences between estimates that are statistically significant at the 0.05 level are discussed.
