Released as an ASCII file (with related SAS, SPSS, STATA, and R programming statements and data user information), a SAS dataset, a SAS transport dataset, a Stata dataset, and an Excel file, the 2023 Full Year Population Characteristics File provides information collected on a nationally representative sample of the United States civilian noninstitutionalized population for calendar year 2023. This file contains data collected in Rounds 3-5 of Panel 27, and Rounds 1-3 of Panel 28 of the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), corresponding to the rounds for the MEPS panels covering calendar year 2023. The dataset includes variables pertaining to survey administration, demographics, person-level conditions, health status, disability days, quality of care, employment, and health insurance. The 2023 full-year expenditure, medical care use counts, and income data will be forthcoming.
